Outdoor Cooler Series

Thermoelectric Assemblies Optimize Thermal Performance in any Outdoor Environment

Laird Thermal Systems has introduced a series of thermoelectric assemblies (TEAs) designed for use in outdoor environments. The Outdoor Cooler Series are compact (cooling objects via convection) air-to-air TEAs said to provide a lower total cost of ownership by maintaining the appropriate temperature range using minimal energy due to its high coefficient of performance (COP).

AA-480 Outdoor Cooler Series User Manual

Laird Thermal Systems’ Outdoor Cooler Series is an Air-to-Air thermoelectric cooler assembly that uses impingement flow to transfer heat. It offers dependable compact performance by cooling objects via convection and is designed to provide cooling for a wide range of outdoor environments in the telecom, industrial and kiosk markets. They are intended to work in an open loop system or if purchased with a bi-directional controller in a closed loop system with feedback control.

This user manual provides necessary information to the customer for proper installation and operation.

Thermoelectric Cooling for Outdoor Kiosks

Introduction

Outdoor kiosks have grown in popularity in a wide variety of applications and sectors, including banking, entertainment, retail, showrooms, industrial and education. You see kiosks everywhere, from banks and airports, to theme parks and train stations. Being located outdoors, kiosks and the sensitive electronics they contain are subjected to extreme temperatures, from the cold of winter to the heat of summer. Ambient temperatures can exceed 40°C or below 10°C. Heat loads for the electronics themselves can range from 20 to more than 200 Watts.
